Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the rules and guidelines for using Resolvo Cloud's services. By using our services, you agree to comply with this policy, which is designed to protect our infrastructure, customers, and the integrity of our platform.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited when using Resolvo Cloud services:
System and Network Abuse
- Unauthorized access to or use of data, systems, or networks, including any attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of a system or network
- Monitoring data or traffic on any network or system without authorization
- Interference with service to any user, host, or network, including mail bombing, flooding, or denial-of-service attacks
- Deliberate attempts to overload a system or disrupt its normal functioning
- Operating network services that adversely affect the performance of our shared hosting platform
Illegal or Harmful Content
- Storing, publishing, or transmitting any content that is illegal, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, or invasive of another's privacy
- Content that promotes or facilitates illegal activity, violence, discrimination, or terrorism
- Content that infringes or misappropriates the intellectual property rights of others
- Distribution of malware, viruses, or other malicious code
- Phishing websites or other fraudulent activities
Email and Communication
- Sending unsolicited bulk email ("spam")
- Harvesting email addresses or collecting personal information without consent
- Forging email headers or otherwise misrepresenting yourself
- Sending large volumes of identical or substantially similar messages
- Operating mailing lists that do not use proper opt-in and opt-out procedures
Resource Usage
- Using excessive amounts of system resources, including CPU time, memory, disk space, and session time
- Running applications that are designed to remain idle or run continuously while consuming significant resources
- Mining cryptocurrencies without explicit written permission
- Running any type of public proxy, VPN service, or TOR exit node without prior authorization
Enforcement
Resolvo Cloud reserves the right to:
- Monitor your usage to ensure compliance with this AUP
- Remove or disable access to any content that violates this policy
- Suspend or terminate your access to our services for violations of this policy
- Report illegal activities to relevant law enforcement authorities
- Take appropriate legal action for any violations
Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it immediately to abuse@resolvocloud.com (opens in new tab) or through our Report Abuse page.
Service-Specific Guidelines
Private Cloud Servers
- All activities conducted on Private Cloud Servers must comply with applicable national and international laws, including but not limited to the Norwegian Electronic Communications Act (Ekomloven), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and relevant cybersecurity legislation
- Customers are responsible for implementing appropriate security measures on their Private Cloud Servers, including regular security updates, proper firewall configuration, and intrusion detection systems
- Private Cloud Servers must not be used to host services that facilitate illegal activities as defined by Norwegian law and international conventions
- Bandwidth usage must remain within reasonable limits as defined in your service agreement; excessive usage that impacts other customers may result in throttling or additional charges
- Customers must maintain proper access controls and are fully responsible for all activities conducted through their account credentials
- Any suspected security breach must be reported to Resolvo Cloud within 24 hours in accordance with GDPR Article 33 requirements
- Customers using Private Cloud Servers for processing personal data must comply with all applicable data protection laws and may be required to enter into a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with Resolvo Cloud
Web Hosting
- Websites must not contain "doorway" pages used solely for search engine optimization in violation of search engine guidelines and fair competition practices
- Websites must not participate in link farms or other excessive cross-linking strategies that violate search engine terms of service
- Adult content must be clearly labeled as such and must comply with all applicable laws, including age verification requirements under the Norwegian Marketing Control Act and similar EU regulations
- All websites must include appropriate privacy policies and cookie notices as required by the GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act
- Websites collecting personal information must implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure data security as required by GDPR Article 32
Database Services
- Databases must be properly secured and not exposed to public access unless specifically intended, in compliance with industry security standards (ISO 27001) and data protection regulations
- Regular backups are recommended, as our backup services are provided on a best-effort basis; customers remain responsible for ensuring adequate data protection
- Queries should be optimized to prevent excessive server load; Resolvo Cloud reserves the right to terminate resource-intensive queries that impact system performance
- Personal data stored in databases must be encrypted at rest and in transit in accordance with GDPR requirements and industry best practices
- Database services must not be used to store sensitive payment information unless compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
Storage Services
- Storage of content that violates intellectual property laws, including copyright, trademark, and patent laws, is strictly prohibited
- Encrypted storage containing illegal content is prohibited and may be subject to investigation by relevant authorities in accordance with applicable laws
Changes to this Policy
Resolvo Cloud may revise this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on our website, and the "Last Updated" date will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
